Nordstrom Tower (Before 225 West 57th New York)

Like the title, this building has changed name from 225 West 57th which is in New York to Nordstrom Tower (but from other sources the names is only one of the two?). From the base to the seven floor will be for the Nordstrom department store.
   However this is a skyscraper in the construction and is supposed to be finished in 2018. This is the tallest skyscraper to height of the top roof with 451 meters (1479 ft). The Nordstrom Tower will one of the most dominate skyscraper in the midtown in New York.

Liksom ifrån titeln så har den här byggnaden ändrat sitt namn ifrån 225 West 57th som ligger i New York till Nordstrom Tower (men från andra källor båda namnen för det här fallet kanske gäller?).
   Till våning sju kommer den att vara tillför Nordstrom avdelningsbutik. Skyskrapen är tänkt att bli klar år 2018. Denna är den högsta till taket skyskrapa med en höjd på 451 meter. Nordström tornet kommer att bli den en av de mest dominanta byggnader i mitten av stan.

Torre Bankia

The skyscraper Torre Bankia with a hight of 250 meter (820 ft) is in the Madrin in Spain. The building have 45 floors and is the tallest one in Spain and only one meter taller that the second tallest skyscraper in Spain named Torre de Cristal. Torre Bankia (and also the Torre de Cristal) was finished in year 2008. It took 4 years to build the Torre Bankia from 2004 to 2008.

   The Torre Bankia is an office building and is in the business/finance district in Madrid. The skyscraper is designed of the architect Norman Foster and the skyscraper style is postmodern. Torre Bankia is made of glass, steel and concrete.

Byggnaden har 45 våningar och är den högsta skyskrapan i Spanien och enbart en meter högre än den näst högsta byggnaden i Spanien som heter Torre de Cristal. Torre Bankia (och även Torre de Cristal) blev färdig byggd år 2008. Det tog 4 år att bygga Torre Bankia ifrån 2004 till 2008.

   Torre Bankia används som kontor och ligger just i affärs område i Madrid. Skyskrapan är designad av arkitekten Norman Foster och är av stilen postmodern. Torre Bankia är gjord av glas, stål och betong.

Woolworth building

Now to one old classics named the Woolworth building which is over 100 years today and which was finished in year 1913. The building has once in time been the tallest skyscraper in the world with a height of 241 meter (791 feet) and with 57 floors and 34 elevators. This was the second skyscraper in the world which was taller that the 200 meters (656 feet) and defeat also the previously skyscraper Metropolitan Life Tower record holder with a height of 28 meter (92 feet). Woolworth building was also a building which was world tallest skyscraper in seventeen years before the Trump Building or 40 Wall Street Building toke the title by world tallest building in year 1930. Woolworth building was also a symbol for the American materialism success.

   The skyscraper was under construction between the years 1910 to 1913 and is designed of the architect Cass Gilbert. The style of this building is Neo – Ghotic. Woolworth building was for beginning to a company named F.W Woolworth Company which the building was theirs headquarters. The company owned the building to the year 1998 before the company went out of the business. Today, part of the building on the top floors many apartments have been created which gives wonderful views. The skyscraper is in the south Manhattan and can be easily viewed from the Brooklyn Bridge.

   The skyscraper is mostly made of cupper, steel, terra cotta and lime stone. The skyscraper looked like if it is a gigantic cathedral which also was a nicknamed before. Even the interior can some of us draw a parallel between cathedral paintings and so on. However the building gets some critics before for the cathedral feature. The building is a typically a steel skeleton frame and the high speed elevators was invented which was a good idea to use when this one is a really tall one. The skyscraper is also a fireproof building.

   The Woolworth building is preservation by US National Register of Historical Places, US National Historic Landmard and NYC Landmark.

   Many movies have recorded with the Woolworth building motive like Ugly Betty series, Crocodile Dundee and Enchanted which is a Disney movie.

   But however this one is one of my old favorite skyscraper with fascinating detailed and fancy building.

Skyskrapan ligger i södra Manhattan och kan lätt ses ifrån Brooklyn bron.

   Byggnaden består mest utav koppar, stål, terra cotta och kalksten. Skyskrapan ser ut som en jätte gigantisk katedral vilket den även fick smeknamnet för ifrån början. Hur som helst fick byggnaden även kritik för sin katedral liknande utseende till början. Även innanför byggnaden liknar den som en katedral med all dess utsmyckningar och målningar. Byggnaden var även en av de stålskelett byggnaden och höghastighetshissen vilket har utvecklats passade väl till denna byggnad som är så pass hög. Byggnaden var även bevisat at ha en hög eldsäkerhets system.

   Woolworth building är även bevarad byggnad av US National Register of Historical Places, US National Historic Landmard och NYC Landmark.

   Det har även spelats in många filmer vid Woolworth building som t ex Ugly Betty serie, någon sekvens ifrån Crocodile Dundee och Disney filmen Enchanted.

   Men hur som helst är det här nog en av mina gamla favoriter. En väldigt detaljerad och utsmyckad byggnad.

432 Park Avenue has topping out

An update of the 432 Park Avenue skyscraper has topping out and have reach its finally height of 426 meter. You can see a America flag on the building which is celebration of it. Fachinating thin building which is taller than the Empire State Building. The building will be finished in 2015.

And now topping out in october

432 Park Avenue (over 400 meters)

This skyscraper has now a height of 400 meters (1340 ft). The height of the building when finieshed will be about 426 meters (1398 ft). So, the skyscraper has nearly toped out. However this is very impressive when the building is taller than the Empire State building and soon taller than Freedom Tower or One of the World Trade center.

Aon Center

Aon Center is in Chicago and was built in 1973 and is the third tallest skyscraper in Chicago with a height of 346 meters (1136 ft). The building has 83 floors and is used to office, parking garage, restaurant and retail.

   The architecture stile of this building is called international. The architect firm of this building is Edward Durell Stone and Perkins and will. The skyscraper had from the beginning another name which was Standard Oil Building, and changed named to Amoco Building year 1985 and finally the building changed named to Aon Center year 2001.

   In some holydays the building is lighting in different color from the top of the building depend on which day. The orange is used for the thanksgivings day, the pink to the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and for the Christmas the red and green is used.

   The Aon Center is near a cool building like Two Prudential Plaza.

   För somliga helgdagar byggnaden lyser upp ifrån toppen av byggnaden i olika färger beroende på vilken dag. Den orangea används för tankgivande dagen, den rosa färgen är för Nationella bröst cancer uppvaknande månaden och röd och grön för julen.

   Aon Center ligger nära en häftig byggnad som kallas för Two Prudential Plaza.

Old Post Office Chicago

The Old Post Office Chicago Skyscraper is a skyscraper in prososed in Chicago which will be a mega tall skyscraper with a height of 609.6 m (2000 ft). This will be a mixed use example for hotel, office and residential.

   The architect is Booth Hansen.
