American Radiator Building

Here we have an old favorite building from 1924, the black skyscraper with the gold crown. American Radiator Building is in New York and has a height of 103 meter (338 ft) and with 23 floors. Like for Empire State Building the buildings shines on the night from the crown and from the tallest floor. The goldbricks on the building are symbolized fire.

   American Radiator building is now a hotel from 2001 which is The Bryant Park Hotel.

   The architects to this skyscraper are Raymond Hood and John Howells. The skyscraper stile is a combination between art deco and neo ghotic. Both of the stiles were commons from that time. For example is the Woolworth building and Trump building of neo ghotic stile while Chrysler building and Empire State Building architecture stile is art deco. But the special thing with this building is in fact that this was the first one to use the art deco style and was also the first skyscraper in the New York to get an official landmark year 1927. The American Radiator Building has also been registered as U.S. National Register of Historical Places. The skyscraper has even won Chicago Tribune Tower competition on the first and second place design.

   The building is made of glass, gold, bricks, concrete and masonry.
