Why Skyscrapers?

Why do the skyscrapers ever be built in the first place? This sounds perhaps like a stupid question even for me which am a skyscraper fan. But there exist other important factors that the skyscrapers are impressive and also boast building.

   The biggest and probably is the cause which made it happen is from the economic nature. When the landmarks prices in the large cities get in to the sky-high prices and the cities will be too large in areas with small buildings and with long transportations gives the possibility to solve it in different way namely to build high buildings which reach the sky, if that wasn´t the case, the skyscraper had probably never been developed. I claim not that the skyscraper wouldn´t exist, but I guess that some towers and few skyscrapers (boast building) had existed.

   But for the first skyscraper other problems like whom in the full sense want to have strength to go all of the stairs in the skyscrapers every day without the elevators? Elevator like things have exist in long time (the first note of the construction of a elevators was in 236 B.C. of Archimedes), but the elevators before didn´t have any security, if the line breaks gives you only one option namely a fast death. Development of the security for elevators came in 1853 of Elisha Otis and the first office which installed the elevator was the Equitable Life Building which was built in 1870 in New York. This building was for some people the first skyscraper in the world with 40 meters (131 ft), but others think that Home Insurance Building which was built 1885 in Chicago was the first one. That means that either the Chicago or New York was the first cities with the skyscraper. In which cities was the birth of skyscrapers? I am sure for one thing; this question will never get an answer because the people think different on this.

   However, thanks to the cause of the landmarks prices were extremely high did it possible to skyscrapers to be developed; with other case the New York had looked quite different than the pictures below.

Varför bygger man egentligen skyskrapor? Kanske låter som en dum fråga för en som mig själv till exempel som är skyskrapor fantast. Men det finns fler orsaker än att de är häftiga att titta på samt skrytbyggen.

   En största och troligen den orsaken som fick igång skyskrapor bygget är av ekonomisk natur. Då tomterna i storstäderna blev dyrare och dyrare och bygget på bredden ger långa transportsträckor in mot centrumen. Då blir det ekonomiskt lönsamt att bygga på höjden då markpriserna blir tillräckligt höga. Om så inte vore fallet hade nog aldrig skyskrapor utvecklats som de har gjort idag. Inte sagt att en ända skulle ha funnits, det skulle kanske finnas några enstaka torn och skyskrapor.

   Men för de första skyskraporna visades det problem med t ex att ingen i rimlighetens namn skulle orka gå alla dessa trappor som de högre husen bildade. Hiss liknande ting har funnits länge (den första noterbara hissen konstruerades av Archimedes vilket var 236 före Kristus), men föregångarna har inte haft någon som helst säkerhet, om linan gick av medförde det enbart en snabb död. Utvecklingen av säkerhet för hissen kom på 1853 av Elisha Otis och det första kontoret med en hiss i var Equitable Life Building vilket byggdes år 1870 talet i New York. Enligt vissa så var även den här byggnaden som är på 40 meter världens första skyskrapa, medan andra tycker att Home Insturance Building som byggdes på 1885 i Chicago är världens första skyskrapa. Så det innebär att antingen så föddes skyskrapor i Chicago eller i New York och man kommer allvarligt talet aldrig komma överens om vilken stad som var först med att bygga värdens första skyskrapa.

   Men hur som helst tack vare faktorn av att tomterna var så dyra så att skyskrapor kunde byggas, annars hade New York sett helt olikt ut än bilden ovanför.
